Study in China with Scholarships
Learn about the various scholarships available for studying in China.
1. Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC)
Benefits: Monthly stipend of 3000 RMB for Master's and 3500 RMB for PhD, covering tuition fees, accommodation, and medical insurance. Available at 273 universities offering CSC scholarships.
2. ANSO Young Talent Scholarship
Monthly stipend of at least 4000 RMB for Master's and between 5000 to 7000 RMB for PhD, with benefits similar to CSC. Some CAS institutes may offer free or paid dormitory options, while others may not.
Note: Only two universities offer this scholarship: UCAS and USTC. Applicants can apply to either one.
- UCAS: Requires a professor’s support.
- USTC: Admission possible without a professor’s support.
3. Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS)
Monthly stipend of 3000 RMB for Master's and 3500 RMB for PhD, with benefits similar to CSC. All universities in Shanghai offer this scholarship.
4. President Scholarship
Monthly stipend ranging from 1500 to 3000 RMB, depending on the university or province. Universities offering this scholarship include Zhengzhou University, Chongqing University, Northwest Polytechnic University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Chang'an University, and more.
5. Provincial Government Scholarship
Stipend and benefits vary by university and department. Universities offering this scholarship include Ningxia University, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Shihezi University, Northwest University, Chang'an University, and others.
6. University Scholarships
Stipend and benefits depend on the university and department. Universities offering this scholarship include USTC, UCAS, Southeast University, Central South University, Jiangxi University, and many more.
7. Belt and Road Scholarship
Monthly stipend of 3000 RMB for Master's and 3500 RMB for PhD, with benefits similar to CSC. Offered by Sichuan University, Jiangxi University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and others.
8. CSC Silk Road Scholarship (B-Type)
This scholarship is usually offered in the second round. If an applicant applies for the first round of CSC and does not receive the scholarship, some universities may offer this option. Not all universities provide this opportunity.
Benefits: Monthly stipend of 3000 RMB for Master's and 3500 RMB for PhD, covering tuition fees, accommodation, and insurance.
Note: Most CSC universities offer the Silk Road Scholarship B-Type, including Lanzhou University, Northwest University, Tianjin University, Southeast University, Huzhou University of Science and Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, and more.
